just one week passes in a blink, when preparing the photos for this post it made me realise just one week, so many activities happening in and about my home and i don't think these days that i'm very busy !
the last weekend in february was spent with another visit from Marg Sampson George and a workshop
so on the first morning, bright and early the bobsy twins appeared and even their name tags turned in the same wrong direction at the same time ! Marie and Narelle both saw the funny side of this, neither had worn these tops for some time either, but both had such good taste on the same day for the same occasion
this version of 'going green gradually' is taking shape
more progress was made over the two days, still lots to do Deb
Karen made a start
and so did Anne, some other pics from the tables as i moved round them, but now i also realise that there was so much i didn't get a photo of, well i did spend quite a bit of time in the kitchen
inside a bag, there were lots of bags, different bags
Carolyn's version of 'going green'
Amanda's bag and her very ordered workspace
some little bits ready for some broderie perse
and Marie's 'stars and birds' is looking lovely
teacher's pet, no not really, but they are both 'going to nante you know' ! it was the chant of the weekend !
and Wendy's 'jane pizar centre', she's also 'going to nante you know'. Australia will be well represented
this poor little pear is well pinned !
more preparation for 'fly away with me'
the stars of the show
that well known guiding hand choosing the next borders for Narelle's quilt top
and once again the finger points to the chosen bolt
then the attention was turned to embroidery with 'mrs sew & so' on tuesday and Jenny had finished her lovely piece
you can see it was just out of the hoop ! such beautiful stitching !
then on wednesday, on a very personal note, it was thirty years since my mother died, it just seemed as though it was such a long time ago. so much has happened since, so much she has missed, so much to share, so much to spare her of ! i have been the orphan of my immediate family now for so many years, no one to share those moments in a family that only you know about. in this photo mum is sitting on the veranda of what became my grandparents home doing some hand sewing, happy, in love with my dad and her lifetime to look forward to, i know that i'm so fortunate to have such happy memories of our family life and my mum who cared so well for us all and so many others in her time.
the days have been long and hot, a splash in the bird bath was being considered
being a bit shy i think to spread the wings and fling the water about, turning its back on me, but keeping an eye on me at the same time
and in the garden i'm loving my succulents, these are the size of large dinner plates
but on friday night, someone/something also loved my succulents
and over night last night came back for another go, nothing to photograph now, just a stalk ! that's why i hate possums, sorry to those who love them, but they are so destructive !
i will leave you with on a pretty note
geraniums on the kitchen windowsill, love them !
and i've always loved a bit of ric rac !
